It seems this week sped by and it’s Friday again, so that means we have another professional pet photography Project 52 blog post. Our theme for Week 21 was “Cityscape.” When you think of a landscape, you think of anything but a city; so, a cityscape is kind of the opposite of a landscape. My cityscape for this week does include some landscape, but it also contains the cityscape of Downtown Cincinnati as seen from Devou Park in Covington, Kentucky.
I knew for this week that I wanted to have the Cincinnati skyline as my backdrop and the best views of it tend to come from the hills around the city. I hadn’t been to Devou Park for years, but I’m always seeing pictures from other photographers with the spectacular backdrop of the city. It was the BF’s birthday and he had the day off work, so we packed up Mr. Bojangles and went to the park. It was a picture postcard day, but also quite warm in the sun, so I first had Mr. Bojangles sit on my reflector (the black disc underneath him) as I didn’t want his paws or bottom to burn.
Since the picnic table was covered up for some frames of shooting, I decided to remove the reflector and have Mr. Bojangles sit on a slightly cooler (he wasn’t going to get burned) table.
And, since it was a family outing (even though the rest of our furry family wasn’t with us), we decided to take a family portrait to commemmorate the BF’s birthday.
To see more cityscapes, visit Elayne Massaini do PET Photos de Sao Paulo, Brazil, then travel around the rest of the blog circle until you end up back here.
This Saturday I will have a booth at the Montgomery Farmer’s Market in Montgomery and on Sunday I will be at the PetPeople in West Chester, Ohio, doing “Year of the Dog” headshots. Walk-ins are welcome as we have the time.
