We are at Week 11 for our professional pet photography blog circle Project 52 and our theme this week is “high key.” High key lighting is frequently done in a studio setting with a white background and lights, but it does not have to be done indoors nor does it have to be in a studio setting. However, high key is one of my very favorite methods for photography in a studio setting, so that is what I chose to do. I really love the clean and simple look of studio high key photography. You may recall I did this type of look with Mr. Bojangles for our Week 2 theme of “black & white.” For this week’s theme, I decided to give Mr. Bojangles some time off and had Paco take center stage.

I wanted to show how easily this type of image converted from color to black and white, maintaining a clean look.

Tell us what you think in the comments. To see more high-key images, head over to Kelly Garin Photography, Columbia, SC, and the around the rest of the blog circle until you end up back here.

Oh, and Happy St. Patrick’s Day from all of us at Pet Love Photography!
