We are at Week 50 of professional pet photography blog circle Project 52. So hard to believe the year is almost over. Our theme for this week was “Low Key.” Low Key photography is a style of photography that uses dark tones and tends to have more shadows. It is more somber and mysterious…the opposite of High Key, which was our theme a few weeks ago. For this week’s theme I chose a dark backdrop and turned off the ambient lighting so that Mr. Bojangles was lit only by my speedlights. I adjusted my shooting position and the flash settings for the various images, so that I had different degrees of low key lighting. While I didn’t go as far as I could for the low key lighting, I think I have a good start and may experiment more with this style of shooting.
Now to see some more low key images, head over to Sydney & Mac Creative Designs, and then around the rest of the blog circle until you end up back here.
