It’s week two-hundred and thirty of home isolation, but Week 14 of professional pet photography blog circle  Project 52. Our theme for this week is “wide open spaces” which is pretty ironic considering that most places are wide open these days. Fortunately, we’ve had a couple of nice weather days to get out and take the dogs for a walk (or two.) I like to walk Lola at the high school across the street from us because it’s a wide-open space where she can run. Normally, at this time of year, the soccer fields, track, and baseball diamonds would be full of kids but since school is shut down the only other people we run into are neighbors walking their dogs.

For this first very wide-open image I used my wide-angle lens, a manual focus 14mm. Confession, it’s always a crapshoot when I use this lens because I can’t tell if I have my subject in focus. Sometimes I get lucky and sometimes I don’t.

I used my 70-200mm telephoto lens for the next image to get a close-up of Lola. Fortunately, I have no worries about getting my subject in focus with this lens.

We then moved to a different location so the open green space of the soccer fields was behind us.

Next explore some wide-open spaces with Jo Lyons Photography, the down-to-earth dog-loving photographer for cherished dogs of the Great Lakes NSW, and then head around the rest of the blog circle until you end up back here.
