It’s finally here, the last full week of the year and Week 52 of our professional pet photography blog circle Project 52. Our theme for the week is “Year in Review” and do I have a busy year to review!
In 2018 I published my second book, “Rescue Cats: Portraits and Stories” in June and my third book, “Rescue Rabbits: Portraits of Bunnies Finding Happy Homes” in November. I also participated in several book festivals, which were all interesting and fun in their own unique ways.

As part of my continuing effort as a member of HeARTs Speak to give back to the rescue community and help adoptable pets find their forever homes, I photographed quite a few animals for various rescues. This year I photographed 23 dogs, 89 cats and kittens, 62 rabbits, 22 guinea pigs, 3 ferrets, one chinchilla, and one hamster for various rescue groups both in Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky and around Ohio. (That’s 201 total pets all shown in the image below.)

I also did quite a few holiday photo events as highlighted in last week’s blog post where I photographed a total of 294 dogs and 4 cats. No wonder I’m so tired!

My year in review wouldn’t be complete if I didn’t mention one of the best things to happen this year, the addition of Lola to the Pet Love Photography pack.
