Yesterday morning Mr. Bojangles and I made an appearance on Cincinnati’s Fox19 Morning Xtra program to promote my first book, “Rescue Dogs: Portraits and Stories.” It was quite a nerve-wracking experience, but I know I did a lot better than I was expecting to for my first TV experience and that’s all thanks to Amy Ostigny, a PR and marketing expert with Amy Ostigny Company. She met with me Tuesday night and coached me on what to expect and how to approach it. So, if you are in need of any PR or marketing help, I highly recommend Amy!
We got our appearance on Fox19 all because I finally got around to sending out some press releases about my book. Our airtime was scheduled for 10:10am and we were to be down at the Fox19 studios about 15 minutes beforehand. We waited in the green room (which was actually green) until they brought us to the studio just a couple of minutes before airtime.
Here’s an iPhone snap of Mr. Bojangles waiting in the Green Room.
You can see our segment on Fox19 Morning Xtra at the bottom of this post. I actually don’t sound like a babbling idiot, so that’s a good thing. LOL! Let us know what you think in the comments.
Afterward, we had a Fox19 staff person snap a picture of Mr. Bojangles and me with our host, Charisse Gibson. She’s a lovely woman and mom to two rescue dogs herself!
Overall, I’m pretty happy with how the interview went and hope that it will raise awareness for my book and rescue dogs in general.
