Happy New Year! Welcome to 2018, Year of the Dog!
While Chinese New Year is not officially until mid-February, we are taking this opportunity to welcome 2018 as the Year of the Dog! At Pet Love Photography we feel that every year is the year of the dog (or cat or other special pet) and we want to celebrate them each and every day they are in our lives, as that time is all too short. That’s why what we do at Pet Love photography is so important in documenting the time our dogs or other pets spend with us.
One of the other things we do when we can is to provide pro bono photographic services for rescues to make sure that their adoptable pets put their best foot forward with a professional photo shoot. We try to make this as easy as possible for the various rescues by going to them whenever possible, including visiting foster pets in their foster homes with our portable studio.
In 2017 we photographed close to 200 rescue pets looking for their forever homes through the League for Animal Welfare, Ohio Pet Sanctuary, Save our Shelter Dogs, Buckeye House Rabbit Society, and Stray Animal Adoption Program. We hope to help even more pets in need in 2018!
In 2017 we also released our first book, “Rescue Dogs: Portraits and Stories” with proceeds from the sales benefiting Recycled Doggies in Cincinnati, Muttville Senior Dog Rescue in San Francisco, and HeARTs Speak. In 2018 our second book, “Rescue Cats: Portraits and Stories” will be released. We are please to announce that proceeds from our cat book will benefit Cincinnati Cats, Jake’s Place Cat Rescue in the San Francisco Bay Area, and Pets in Need of Greater Cincinnati, a non-profit veterinary clinic that provides both medical and food assistance for pets in low-income homes.
Overall, we had a pretty good 2017 and we are hoping for an even better 2018. Stay tuned to see what else unfolds!
